JUMP SEAT DUO
Convertible Jump Seat / Onboard Wheelchair
Designed for passengers.
Engineered for airlines.
Jump Seat Duo seamlessly serves as both a Cabin Attendant Seat (CAS) and an On-Board Wheelchair (OBW) for passengers with reduced mobility. Dual-purpose design eliminates the necessity to stow a separate onboard wheelchair, streamlining day-to-day operation and breaking accessibility barriers.
The Jump Seat Duo (JSD) was first presented at the Crystal Cabin Awards 2023 and later showcased at the Hamburg Aircraft Interior Expo and Customer Experience Center in 2024 and 2025.
Representatives from over 100 airlines attended the presentations, with >85% finding the product attractive. In 2025, JSD evolved to version 3, incorporating feedback from Airbus, agencies, airlines, crew, and PRM associations. The latest version has passed engineering tests (cycling, static, dynamic).
The product meets CFR Title 14 Ch. II Sub.Ch. D §382.65, which requires on-board wheelchairs when lavatories are equipped for PRM. Its wheelchair mode fits aisles, supports the whole body, and requires no stowage space, preserving passenger luggage room. It uses existing CAS attachment points and maintains original CAS weight.
The product is in line with latest CFR Title 14 Ch. II Sub.Ch. D in regards to requirement § 382.65 concerning the requirement for on-board wheelchairs when the lavatory is provisioned for PRM. JSD offers the highest possible degree of safety and comfort during the transportation of PRM from passenger seat to the lavatory area and back. The wheelchair mode fits through the passenger aisle, offers full support of upper body, arms and legs. No extra space for wheelchair stowage, as result additional space for passenger luggage.
